Infinite Yoga of Alaska officially opened its doors on June 2, 2007 and is located in the beautiful facility of the Artisan’s Courtyard on the corner of College Road and Westwood Way, (across the street from the Farmer’s Market). Infinite Yoga is one of the first businesses to open shop in the facility.
The studio is currently offering twenty one classes a week, at all times of the day, for a very diverse range of students. Classes include 9:30 AM morning classes, noon lunch time classes, evening classes, prenatal classes, classes for beginners through advanced students, and even a Baby and Me class designed for new parents with their infants. Currently, over 500 students have become members of the studio, which features a staff of 10 of Fairbanks’ finest yoga teachers, as well as a support staff of four additional teachers which contribute to $5 Friday classes and substituting.
Yoga (Sanskrit for “union”) is an ancient system of movement which incorporates breathing and stretching, and provides an outlet to reduce stress and enhance one’s energy. Over 11 million people worldwide are reported to practice yoga (according to YogaJournal.com), and the numbers are growing as more people discover the benefits for health, happiness, and pain-reduction.
